At St Michel, a high-quality product means high-quality ingredients. To make good cakes you also need good wheat, the very foundation of all our products! It’s one of the main ingredients in St Michel’s recipes and is therefore carefully selected by our quality insurance team, who keep a close eye on growing practices and sustainability.
From the outset, St Michel has been making biscuits, cakes and other delicious products in its own factories in France. In the early days, each factory had its own speciality, but we have since learned to share our know-how out of an ongoing concern to improve the quality of our products and provide our consumers with the very best.
For more than 10 years, St Michel has removed palm oil from all of its products to use only ingredients known to everyone: good quality butter, rapeseed oil or sunflower oil.
We use fine butter sourced in France for our Galettes and Palets, for an inimitable taste!
The hen has been our brand icon and formed part of our logo since 1905. St Michel has the firm belief that to make good cakes you need good eggs! They’re a key ingredient, particularly for making madeleines, and that’s why St Michel uses eggs laid by cage-free eggs in all its recipes.
